AI Literacy for Everyone
Understand AI, use it effectively at work, and recognise its limitations and risks.
15 lessons. A practical outcome.
Open a lesson to see what your team will learn.
01What Is Artificial Intelligence?
Distinguish AI, automation, machine learning and generative AI. Identify familiar workplace examples and explain why a rules-based process is not necessarily AI.
02How Generative AI Works
Explore training data, tokens, prediction and context windows in plain language. Understand that fluent responses are generated outputs, not guarantees of truth.
03What AI Can - and Cannot - Do
Identify suitable tasks and common limitations. Compare a useful draft with an answer that sounds confident but lacks evidence, and decide when a human should take over.
04The Major AI Tools
Understand conversational assistants, copilots, research tools, image generators, coding assistants and enterprise systems. Choose a tool category by task and approved access.
05How to Communicate With AI
Build prompts using a goal, relevant context, constraints, examples and an output format. Practise asking for missing information instead of encouraging invented details.
06From Basic Prompts to Better Results
Improve a weak prompt through follow-up questions and refinement. Use critique as a starting point for review, and create a reusable prompt structure.
07Using AI in Your Everyday Work
Practise drafting, summarising, brainstorming, extracting information and preparing meetings. Choose low-risk tasks where checking the result is practical.
08Hallucinations, Errors & Fact-Checking
Recognise invented facts, sources, quotations and calculations. Verify important claims against original evidence and distinguish uncertainty from a supported conclusion.
09Data Privacy & Confidential Information
Identify personal, customer and company information. Apply the organisation's approved-tool rules and practise replacing sensitive inputs with fictional examples.
10Bias, Ethics & Responsible AI
Explore fairness, transparency, accountability and intellectual-property questions through workplace cases. Identify who must review an output before it affects another person.
11Critical Thinking With AI
Challenge assumptions, compare explanations and identify missing evidence. Treat AI as a thinking partner while retaining responsibility for the judgment.
12Working With AI, Not Just Asking Questions
Break a larger task into research, analysis, drafting, review and improvement. Define what a reliable output looks like at each stage.
13Introduction to AI Workflows & Agents
Distinguish a single prompt, reusable workflow, automation and agent. Use a simple example to identify permissions, checkpoints and possible failures.
14AI in Your Role
Describe your role and recurring tasks. Select five to ten relevant use cases, then rank them by value, risk, effort and ease of checking the result.
15Final Challenge: Build Your Personal AI Workflow
Choose a recurring work task and design an AI-assisted process with approved inputs, clear prompts, verification and a human approval step. Test it on a fictional or authorised example.
Leave with something
you can use.
- Personal AI use-case map
- reusable prompt
- tested workflow
- verification checklist
What the review looks for
The final challenge brings the course together through practical work and review.
A path built around progress.
- 01
Lesson
Understand the concept.
- 02
Exercise
Practise with guidance.
- 03
Task
Apply it yourself.
- 04
Review
Reflect and improve.
Practical skills.
A certificate to show it.
Complete the assigned learning, submit the practical challenge and meet the agreed review requirements. Recognise that achievement with a certificate of completion.
Your programme brief confirms the requirements, reviewer and certificate delivery before you begin.
